An excellent alternative to large impersonal hotels, Summerplace Guesthouse offers an intimate charm no hotel can match. We take pleasure in creating a pleasant and warm atmosphere for you. Each room has been thoughtfully designed combining contemporary decor and fabrics with antique furniture and paintings to create a homely, stylish and comfortable ambience. Souvenirs and artefacts from Africa, Asia, Europe and America collected by the hosts on their travels adorn the walls and floors.

And for the nature-lover, the wonderful Madeira levada walks begin a short distance from the property. There are mountain-biking and  hiking trails immediately behind the property. The country air here is crisp and clean, a contrast to overcrowded and noisy Funchal.
