Summerplace is THE place, the last step on the stairway to heaven! A darling little place! Everything here is close to perfection: beautiful scenery, quiet location, sparkling clean rooms, exquisite food and, the icing on the cake, the hosts´caring attention. Barry and Johannes manage to put a bit of love in everything they do , even anticipating their guests´desires.

wir danken Euch fuer 2 unvergessliche Wochen auf Madeira. Das Auswahlverfahren ueber Internet und Kataloge endete in dem Moment, als wir auf Eure Website gestossen sind.
Jeden Abend, nach einer Wanderung, einer Schokoladentorte im Theaterkaffee oder einer Besichtigung der botanischen Gaerten - freut man sich auf Summerplace.
Alles ist bis ins kleinste Detail durchdacht: Von der Einrichtung bis zum perfekt gedeckten Tisch, ueber die tolle Aussicht, bis hin zu den jeden Tag wechselnden Serviettenringen.
Es hat Spass gemacht, sich mit Euch ueber Madeira auszutauschen. Unvergessen bleiben uns auch Johannes' Kochkuenste und Barrys Ei-Variationen. Hier ein kleiner Tipp fuer die zukuenftigen Gaeste: Bittet um eine Crème brulée, nein fordert eine! Und vergesst nicht Barry zu fragen, wo Westen ist! :-)

From the outside the building is modest and unobtrusive, tucked away in an unpretentious rural community on the far west of the island. Inside is one of the best guesthouses in any range we've stayed at anywhere. The interior is delightfully filled with high quality, individually selected objets d'art. These guys have real taste and it makes hanging out at the guesthouse a pleasure. More than that, from the windows and terrace, there's a wonderful view that takes in both sea and mountains.
Barry and Johannes are quite perfect hosts. Attention to detail is extraordinary, yet the hosts are always relaxed, always make you feel comfortable, as well as supplying the best breakfasts we had on the island and loads of useful information.
They will prepare a meal for you with an advance order.
On top of all that, it's an excellent base for walking, either along the coast or in the interior.

Pénétrez dans la salle à manger, admirez (en plus de la vue panoramique) la collection d’objets rapportés du monde entier avant de vous installer devant un fastueux petit - déjeuner servi avec gentillesse et discrétion par vos hôtes dont le principal souci semble être « que vous n’en ayez aucun »…

Wir haben für einen Familienausflug nach Madeira zwei Zimmer für eine Woche gebucht.
Das Guesthouse hat in jeglicher Hinsicht unsere Erwartungen bei weitem übertroffen. Es liegt abseits des Trubelswie ein Adlerhorst über dem Meer mit einem fantastischen Ausblick.
Sehr stilvolles Ambiente, schwarzes Ifinity Pool (!), unaufdringlicher und gleichzeitig sehr aufmerksamer Service, fantastisches Essen, familiäre Atmosphäre dank weniger Gäste.
Erwähnenswert ist das herausragende Frühstück. Auf Wunsch gibt es auch Barbecue oder fantastische mehrgängige Abendmenüs.

wunderbare Lage, Blick nach Cuba ( und weiter), herrliche Terrasse, Orangenbaum, Zitronenbaum ( beim Nachbarn), Pimpinelle, sehr schoenes offenes Haus, grossartige kulinarische Verwoehnung, Humor, selbstverstaendliche Gastlichkeit, Sprachvielfalt, geraeumige Stille.
